Synopsis: Whilst the combination of death metal and orchestration isn't a new concept I don't know if I can recall hearing it done in the manner of Fleshgod Apocalypse. It was only hinted at on "Mafia" but they've gone all in on "Agony" as it merges technical, blasting death metal with classical music and, to their credit, it sounds like a natural fit rather than disparate elements. To blend it so effectively is a credit to their compositional skills as the orchestration isn't so invasive as to overwhelm the music and, ultimately, it will still readily appeal to those who like brutal death metal.
